Book Proposals The editors prefer a proposal that includes a two page synopsis, a table of contents and the first chapter of the projected book. Any proposal should state whether the material is the result of an academic work or independent research. Book manuscripts must be under 175,000 words in length. Finished Manuscripts The editors always prefer to receive a finished manuscript when possible rather than a few chapters or truncated texts. Be sure to include a table of contents and to have embedded all proper names and footnotes according to the Chicago Manual of Style. If possible we also prefer that the manuscript be bound.
